Learn to White Water Kayak

This two day course is designed to introduce you to the sport of White Water Kayaking in a small group of no more than six people.

The focus is to learn the basics of kayaking in a fun and safe environment. Some of the topics we will cover include:

Equipment, how to choose it and set it up to work for you
Strokes for you to get around as efficiently as possible
River safety
Surfing

If you have ever thought you would like to try white water kayaking, this is the course for you!

No paddling experience required.

Equipment supplied: Kayak, Paddle, PFD, Wet Suit, Spray Skirt, Dry Top, helmet

Cost: $220

Beginner evening Course

This course is designed for those people that just can’t get away during the day but still want to get out and test out the sport of white water kayaking. This course is identical to the learn to kayak course (above) but it is spread out over four evenings one night a week for four weeks.

No paddling experience required.

Equipment supplied: Kayak, Paddle, PFD, Wet Suit, Spray Skirt, Dry Top, helmet

Rolling Clinics

Learn to roll

Whether you’ve been paddling for years or just starting out, being able to roll will boost you confidence and make your paddling experience more enjoyable.

At Coast River Kayak we know that everyone is different so we will work with you to find the style of roll that works best for you and the environment you are paddling in.

Rolling clinics are offered at various lakes in the summer and at swimming pools in Vancouver and Squamish in the winter.

Private White Water Lessons

If you want to improve you skills rapidly this is a great way to do it.

Whether you have never kayaked before or been paddling for years, a private lesson can help build your skills quickly and efficiently. Our instructors will help you work on the skills you need to meet your personal goals.
