The April 28, 29 beginner whitewater course is now full. The next course is on May 19, 20. Register early to guarantee your spot here. The water levels are rising and the season is kicking off….exciting times!

What a beautiful morning for a paddle on Howe Sound! This morning we joined the Squamish Paddling Club for their bi-weekly Toonie Race, if you want to paddle in the race but don’t have a boat – don’t worry! We will be renting out boats for these events for $10. Book in advance by contacting us. Check the SPC website for race dates.

The weather’s getting good and the river levels are rising – time to get paddling!

There are only 2 spaces left for April 28 & 29 beginner whitewater course, so if you (or anyone you know) would like to get a head start on the paddling season this is a great way to do it. The course gives an introduction to white water kayaking, including basic strokes, wet exits, eddy turns and river reading. By the second day you’ll be running rapids and testing out surf waves! Register online here. If you have questions please contact us.

Our new kayaks have arrived for the tours. We now have 4 single and 2 double kayaks from Wilderness Systems. They are super comfortable with their very adjustable phase3 seat system, and the doubles will allow you to bring your kids/grandmother/dog/and pet elephant all at the same time. Seriously though, we chose these boats because they are comfortable and nice to paddle. So if you are coming to visit Squamish or if you live here we can provide you with a guide and a comfy ride.

That was one of the best sessions ever. I love the skill sessions like rescue sessions and today’s flatwater playboating. I learned so much even it was quite crowded. To be honest I could not have done more practicing in 2 hours and was glad to have some waiting time between the tricks. Less people would have meant more personal time with Tyson which would have been better. But this was one of the best 10 bucks spent ever. If you need more personal practice time, go sign up for a course with Tyson at Coast River Kayak, it is worth it too.

Awesome to see that many kayakers having fun in one pool. See you on the river.

Cheers
